Starbucks Purple Drink the DK Way (TW: Domestic Violence)

As you may or may not know, October is Domestic Violence Awareness month. On average, nearly 20 people per minute are abused physically by an intimate partner in the United States. This equals to more 10 million men and women per year. Victims of domestic violence come from various backgrounds. They can be a man, woman, non-binary, black, white, young or old. There is no typical victim.

Domestic violence is more than just physical. It can manifest as emotional and psychological abuse as well. We never want to think that this could happen to us or someone close to us, but no one is immune to this. If you or someone you know needs help escaping an abusive relationship, please call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233 (SAFE) or 1-800-787-3224 (TTY).

D.R.E.A.M. Kitchen stands with those affected by Domestic Violence. Purple is the color of the ribbon that represents Domestic Violence Awareness. In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, I decided to make my version of Starbucks' Purple Drink.
